Allow Screen Recording

DejaVu needs the Screen Recording permission to remember what is on your screen. It uses it only on this Mac; nothing is sent anywhere.

macOS may ask you to confirm this permission again from time to time. When it does, DejaVu pauses and shows a notification: nothing old is lost.

  1. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen & System Audio Recording.
  2. Turn on DejaVu. If it isn’t listed, click +, choose DejaVu in Applications, then turn it on.
  3. Click Quit & Reopen when macOS asks.
  4. Check the menu bar: the DejaVu icon shows “Remembering”.
