Privacy

Last updated: October 19, 2026

This page covers this website, its waitlist and its cookies. The DejaVu app makes its own promise: your memory stays on your Mac, and the app sends no analytics.

What we keep when you join the waitlist

Your email address, the language of the page, the optional boxes you ticked (former Rewind user, developer, beta), the date, whether you confirmed your email, and the country your connection comes from, as reported by our host (two letters, nothing more precise). We do not store your IP address or your browser’s details.

Why, and on what basis

Only to email you when the beta opens and when DejaVu launches, and to offer you the waitlist price. You give your consent by joining and confirming your email (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)); you can withdraw it at any time. We don’t sell, rent or share your email, and we never use it for advertising.

The emails we send

From [email protected], through Cloudflare’s email service. First a single email asking you to confirm; if you don’t click, we never write again and your entry is deleted after 30 days. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, which deletes your entry.

Protection against bots

When you submit the form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person, not a bot. For this check only, Cloudflare processes technical information from your browser and connection, including your IP address, and tells us whether the check passed. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Where it is kept, and for how long

In a Cloudflare database in Western Europe. Your entry is deleted 12 months after DejaVu launches, as soon as you unsubscribe, or as soon as you ask.

This website and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 (through Google Firebase) to count visits and see which pages and buttons are useful. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it runs only if you accept it in the cookie card; elsewhere it runs by default, and you can turn it off with the “Cookies” link at the bottom of every page. It sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) for up to 2 years and sends Google the pages viewed, clicks, approximate location, and device and browser type. Advertising features and Google signals are off, and we never send your email address or anything you type. Legal basis: your consent where it is required, otherwise our legitimate interest in improving the site. Google may process this data outside the EU under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (policies.google.com/privacy). Our host Cloudflare also processes technical request data, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the pages. Your language and cookie choices are remembered in your browser only.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to its use, by writing to [email protected]. If you are in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to the data protection authority of your country.
